Nepali man dies of coronavirus in South Africa



KATHMANDU: A Nepali migrant worker has died from coronavirus in South Africa.

Originally from Panchthar district, 34-year-old youth died of COVID-19 in Johannesburg of South Africa, said Hikmat Thapa, treasurer of Non Resident Nepali Association.

He was working as a security supervisor in a surf company. He is the first Nepali man to have died in South Africa continent.

A total of 22 Nepali people have been infected with coronavirus in South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt and Ivory Coast. Of them, 10 have returned home after recovery, said Thapa.
