Six Nepali girls rescued from Indian brothel

KAPILVASTU: Six Nepali girls held in Delhi’s Parari Jorda-based brothel have been rescued at the initiation of an NGO working for rehabilitation of women and children.

According to Bhumiraj Bhattarai, the Area Coordinator for Peace Rehabilitation Center (PRC), the rescued girls were lured to India by a gang of traffickers with promises that they would fly them to the third countries for lucrative jobs.

Bhattarai claimed that the girls were trafficked to India via the Nepalgunj- Krishnanagar checkpoint on February 12.

The girls were rescued at the initiation of Peace Rehabilitation Center.

PRC’s Area Coordinator Bhattarai informed that four among those rescued are from Morang and one each from Jhapa and Parbat.

The girls were promised a free visa flight to Kuwait and Iran prior to being held captive at the brothel.

Nepal Police said it is tracing the network of the traffickers and investigating the incident case further.
