Nepalis being repatriated via 11 chartered flights today



KATHMANDU: Nepalis stranded in various countries due to the lockdown-induced by COVID-19 are being rescued through 11 flights on Saturday.

Similarly, two aircraft belonging to Nepal Airlines carrying the Nepalis have landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu this morning. These flights departed from Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia.

Similarly, Nepal Airlines will depart Doha and Kuala Lumpur today itself.

Himalayan Airlines, which had brought Nepalis from Kuwait, also arrived in Kathmandu this morning, according to the airport. The same airline is scheduled to fly to Doha, Qatar and Abu Dhabi tonight.

Similarly, Turkish Airlines is scheduled to land at Kathmandu Airport at 9 pm tonight and return to Istanbul at 10:30 pm. This afternoon, Qatar Airways is scheduled to bring Nepalis from Doha and Jazira Airways from Kuwait.

Likewise, there were 11 international flights on Friday also to rescue Nepalis from different countries. A total of 918 passengers entered Nepal from those flights, according to the airport.

Nepal Airlines and Himalayan Airlines are conducting five to six flights on a daily  basis to bring stranded Nepalis home via chartered flights.

International airlines including Qatar Airways, Jazira Airways, Air Arabia and Turkey Airways are operating chartered flights to Nepal.
