CIB initiates probe in Rukum Chaurjahari incident

JAJARKOT: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has initiated investigation in the Rukum Chaurjahari incident in which 6 people lost their lives.

Amid conflicting claims about the cause and the nature of the Chaurjahari incident, 6 persons lost their lives.

According to the sources, the girl’s side did not validate the love between Nava Raj BK of Bheri Municipality-4, and the girl of Malla caste from Chaurjahari 8, Soti, the tragic incident occurred.

DSP Kishor Kumar Shrestha said that the conversation between the couple, Facebook chat and the telephone conversation between the girl’s father, mother and Ward Chair Dambar Bahadur Malla, among many others will be interrogated during the probe.

The investigation is led by SSP Posh Raj Pokharel of Karnali Province Police Office.

Chief of Karnali Province Police has already visited the incident site and has instructed the Rukum Police to investigate the case in detail.

According to Rukum police, the polygraph test of all the alleged has started from Thursday.

A High Level Committee investigation led by Joint Secretary of Home Ministry Jitendra Basnet is also in Rukum.

Similarly, the National Human Rights Commission’s team is also investigating the case visiting the incident site.
