COVID19 infection cases reach 54 in Gandaki Pradesh



KATHMANDU: The number of COVID-19 infection cases has reached 54 in Gandaki Pradesh after 16 new cases were confirmed on Thursday morning.

According to a press note issued by the Ministry of Social Development of  Gandaki Pradesh, 16 people were diagnosed with the coronavirus this morning.

Among those infected are 15 men and one woman.

Three people including a woman from Nishikhola rural municipality, four from Badigaun rural municipality, three from Galkot rural municipality, (Baglung), one each from Syangja and Myagdi districts, and four from Parbat have tested positive for the coronavirus, said Dr Govinda Sharma, Spokesperson at the Gandaki Pradesh COVID-19 Control and Prevention Program.

The new cases were confirmed after their swab test results came out positive at Pokhara Academy of Health Science.

Preparations are underway to take the infected to the isolation wards of respective District Health Offices.
