New IT laws in the making to remove policy-level hassles: Minister Khatiwada



KATHMANDU: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Dr Yubraj Khatiwada says the government is making effective the regulatory provision to ensure credibility, safety, and access to the IT use in the country.

He said new laws were in the making to remove any policy-level hassles and misuse of technology.

Stating that the facilitation on citizen’s right to information is the right to press freedom, Minister Dr Khatiwada said the use of IT currently has been effective to make system more transparent and corruption-free to ensure good governance.

He also claimed that the government was working to fully implement the Digital Nepal Framework in five year as per objectives set in the Information and Communication Technology Policy, 2072: good governance, sustainable development and poverty alleviation.

The Minister said laws relating to IT were being amended to create atmosphere favorable for the investment in IT.
