Palanchowk Bhagwati, Chandeswari fairs halted



BANEPA: The historical Baisakh Poornima fair held in Palanchwok Bhagwati temple in Paanchkhal municipality-9 and in Chandeswari temple in Banepa municipality-5 have been postponed due to the lockdown imposed to stop the spread of Corona Virus in the country.

Only pooja will be held while the fair has been canceled for this year, Mayor of Paanchakhal Mahesh Kharel said. The Ward no. 9 office has also communicated to all trustees to ensure that the fair held on May 7 and 8 is not held and the pooja is done observing social distancing.

Likewise, the fair in Chandeswar temple has been stopped considering the risk of Corona Virus, the Banepa municipality has said. The chariot festival has also been halted, said a member of the Chandeswari Khaccha Guthi member Raghubir Chaupradhan.
