MFD forecasts brief rain at some places

KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has stated that brief rain/thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds and hail is possible at some places in the country on Sunday.

In weather bulletin issued for today, it has predicted generally cloudy throughout the country.

Brief rain/thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds and hail is possible at some places of the central and western regions and at a few places of the eastern region tonight, MFD said.

Currently, the country is under the influence of westerly winds, local winds and low-pressure area formed near the eastern part of the country and water vapor is entering Nepal from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, according to the met office.

MFD has requested to take necessary precautions as there is a possibility of thunderstorm/lightning/hail in some parts of the country and strong winds in the western and eastern Terai in the next 24 hours.
