KAPILVASTU: The Kapilvastu District Court on Friday issued an arrest warrant against Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Abhishek Pratap Shah for allegedly issuing a death threat against a rival political leader.

The warrant was issued after Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Shyam Kumar Misra filed a police complaint against Sah of issuing a death threat.

According to district police spokesperson DSP Sunil Malla, the district court has issued an arrest warrant against Shah. DSP Malla, however, said that Sah is learned to have been to India.

DSP Malla said the police would investigate the case.

Meanwhile, RPP leader Misra has claimed that Sah beat him in his guest room on December 21 after making him consume sedative drugs.

Lawmaker Shah is also alleged of pointing a gun at Misra with a death threat.
