Two Indian nationals held with 2 kg gold at TIA

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two Indian nationals with 1.6 kilograms of gold at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Friday.

The arrested are Mohammad Kashif (with the passport number R-5070322) and Mod Musharphin, 40,( with the passport number J-8619183), said the TIA security office.

Police arrested Kashif with 738 grams of gold during a security check. He had landed at TIA by a flight of Nepal Airlines from Dubai of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Similarly, Mod Musharfin was held with 268 grams of gold during security check as soon as he landed at TIA from Indian capital city New Delhi by a flight of Indigo Air.

Police said the arrested have been handed over to TIA Customs Office for investigation.
