Ruling NCP to field Shrestha in NA election



KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has decided to field party spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha in the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election.

He will contest from Gandaki province in the NA election to be held on January 23, 2020.

A meeting of the party’s Secretariat meeting this morning decided to bring Shrestha, who had earlier lost the House of Representatives (HoR) election from Gorkha-2, to the NA.

Likewise, the NCP has also decided to bring standing committee member Beduram Bhusal to the NA.

According to Spokesperson Shrestha, while Indu Gautam will contest from Province-1 from women quota, Gopi Acchami and Devendra Dahal have been picked from Dalit and others category respectively.

Similarly, Tulasa Dahal from women and Radheshyam Paswan from Dalit quota have been picked from Province-2.

Woman candidate Ganga Belbasi and Beduram Bhusal representing ‘others’ category have been picked from Province-3.

Similarly, Bhagawati Neupane will contest from Gandaki Province while Bimala Ghimire (women’s), Jag Prasad Sharma (differently-abled) and Gopal Bhattarai (others) are contesting from Province-5.

Likewise, Maya Prasad Acharya (others) and Sunita KC (women’s) have been picked from Karnali Province.

The party has picked Taraman Swar and Sharada Bhatta from Sudhurpaschhim Province.
