KATHMANDU: : The Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, has decided to terminate the provision of mobilizing plainclothes police officials in the Kathmandu Valley. The police offices under the Metropolis have been maintaining peace and curbing crimes.
So, the mobilization of plainclothes police personnel was stopped, said Deputy Inspector General of Police, Bishworaj Pokhrel. “The mobilization of plainclothes police personnel has no more relevance. From now onwards, they will be mobilized in office uniform,” he added.
An officer at the Metropolitan Police Office said the chance of misuse of authority by the plainclothes police officials had grown, which would earn bad repute to the police organization.
