Kathmandu Valley witnesses 1,468 fresh COVID-19 cases

KATHMANDU: As many as 1,468 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, among them are 649 women and 819 men. A total of 1,242 cases have been confirmed in Kathmandu, 63 in Bhaktapur and 163 in Lalitpur.

Meanwhile, 3,114 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal’s COVID-19 has reached 179,614 with fresh cases as of Tuesday afternoon.

Altogether 11,166 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

A total of 3,142 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 141,134 in the country.

Nepal currently has 37,476 active cases.

Likewise, 1,277 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

As many as 20 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 1,004 the Ministry confirmed.
