KATHMANDU: Youth Congress Nepal said that its attention has been drawn to an interview by Nepal’s Ambassador to China, Mahendra Bahadur Pandey hailing China-Nepal relations while castigating India as well as Indian and Foreign media for endeavoring to ruin China-Nepal ties.

In a statement, it said that Pandey in the interview linked India and Foreign media to define Sino-Nepalese relations which is against the non-aligned foreign policy norms of Nepal.

“His statement withal seems undiplomatic, against diplomatic protocol, and transcending the brief of an envoy. It reflects like Nepal is less liable to defend its national interest rather than looks forward submissive to the interest of China,” reads the statement.

It lays the responsibility of the Ministry of External Affairs to demystify Pandey’s statement, but the concerned bodies are unresponsive and unanswered, it further said.

Youth congress Nepal has additionally drawn the attention of the government to its impotency in Foreign policy outlook relating to Humla Episode.

“We dissent with the regime premature decision on demystifying the Humla episode afore the reporting of the survey team deployed to find the position of pillar 11 and border,” it said.

Youth Congress Nepal has urged the government to come forward responsibly in this regard and withal give clarification on the statement made by the Ambassador to China whose steps seem reaching beyond his call of duty and playing the blame game in the diplomatic course of Nepal.
