KATHMANDU: Including 261 cases in Province 1, 175 in Province 2, 1,312 in Bagmati, 54 in Gandaki, 161 in Province 5, 53 in Karnali and 105 in Sudurpaschim Province, the country saw 2,120 fresh cases of coronavirus pandemic in the last 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, there have been 7 coronavirus cases in Udayapur, 4 in Okhaldhunga, 5 in Khotang, 9 in Jhapa, 1 in Dhankuta, 111 in Morang, 3 in Sankhuwasabha and 122 in Sunsari of Province 1. The province saw 261 cases in total in the last 24 hours.
Likewise, Province 2 saw 175 cases including 13 in Dhanusha, 18 in Parsa, 25 in Bara, 5 in Mahottari, 82 in Rautahat, 19 in Saptari, 5 in Sarlahi and 8 in Siraha today.
The Ministry sources informed that Bagmati Province saw the highest number of infection cases, i.e. 1312 cases on Saturday.
In Bagmati, Kathmandu saw the highest number of cases with 1001 cases here. Among other cases, Chitwan saw 75, Kavre 14, Dolakha 4, Dhading 8, Nuwakot 8, Bhaktapur 67 and Makwanpur 12 cases of coronavirus in 24 hours.
Similarly among other districts in the province, Ramechhap witnessed 6, Lalitpur 109, Sindhuli 6 and Sindhupalchowk 2 cases today.
The Ministry informed that Gandaki Province saw 54 new cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours. The Gandaki Province cases included 22 COVID cases in Kaski, 6 in Gorkha, 10 in Tanahun, 8 in Nawalparasi East, 1 each in Parvat, Myagdi and Baglung, 3 in Lamjung and 2 in Syangja district.
Similarly among the 161 cases of Province 5, there are 2 each in Arghakhanchi and Gulmi, 6 each in Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi West and Pyuthan, 4 in Dang, 7 in Palpa and 10 in Bardiya. Likewise, Bardiya saw 10, Banke 19, Rupandehi 98 and Rolpa 1 cases of coronavirus in this province in the past 24 hours.
Karnali Province had the least number of COVID-19 cases on the data revealed on Saturday. IT witnessed 43 cases in Surkhet, 9 in Dailekh and 1 in Kalikot district.
The Ministry of Health informed that Sudurpaschim Province got 105 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours which include 93 cases of Kailali, 5 of Kanchanpur, 2 of Dadeldhura and 1 each of Darchula, Bajhang and Bajura.
With 2120 cases added in the COVID-19 case tally on Saturday, the COVID-19 caseload of the country has reached to 84,570 today.
According to Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, there are 21,302 active cases and 4,273 people passing time in various quarantines throughout the country.
He added that 12,978 PCR tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.
