KMC records nearly 10,000 cases of coronavirus infection

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has recorded nearly 10,000 cases of coronavirus infection.

The most affected is Ward No 15 of KMC where there are 871 cases of infection.

So far, the KMC experienced the infection among 9,825. After Ward No 15, there are more than 500 infected people in Ward No 3, 11, 13 and 16, according to Chief of Public Health at KMC, Hari Kunwar.

Moreover, 5,509 persons have returned home with recovery, the KMC said, adding that 80 persons lost lives to the deadly virus so far.

In recent days, Kathmandu Valley has been the hotspot of coronavirus as the physical distancing is not maintained and masks not used properly.

Chief Kunwar argued that the infection of coronavirus grew alarmingly lately because of the crowds in public vehicles, government offices, hotels, hospital and airports.

The Ministry of Health and Population is appealing daily to the people not to make crowds and maintain adequate safety measures.

The total number of infected persons has reached 82,450, thereby claiming the lives of 520 persons in the country.

Similarly, 60,696 persons have recovered their health.
