SURKHET: A cooperative in Surkhet has announced a relief package to its members at a time when the banks and financial institutions have been dented with COVID-19 pandemic.

The cooperative named Small Farmer Agriculture Cooperatives at Lekbensi Municipality-9 announced a heavy discount on loan interest in a bid to link its members to income and production, said the cooperative’s Manager Hari Prasad Poudel, adding that the scheme would be implemented from October 17.

“The relief package is for the people affected by the infection. Cheap interest rates will be provided to those involving in entrepreneurship. Eleven percent interest rate will be provided in deposit,” he said.

It was decided to provide 13.55 percent interest on finance loans, 12 percent on emergency loans, nine percent on meat, vegetable ad dairy products and 10 percent on self-reliant loans, according to him. RSS
