Dharan turning into coronavirus hotspot with 61 fresh cases

SUNSARI: As many as 61 additional people including a six-year-old minor girl have tested positive for COVID-19 in Dharan Sub Metropolitan City of Sunsari district.

According to a press note issued by BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, seven officials including an engineer of Sub Metropolitan City were diagnosed with the virus.

Similarly, those infected are people’s representatives from wards 2 and 12 of the sub metropolis. Among those infected, 36 are males while 25 are females.

Preparations are underway to conduct contact-tracing of those infected, said Umesh Mehata, chief of Health Division of Dharan Metropolitan City.
