Kathmandu Valley confirms 51 new COVID-19 cases



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley confirmed 51 fresh coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, Ministry of Health and Population said.

Speaking at a regular press briefing on Monday afternoon, Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that 43 cases have been reported in Kathmandu, three in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur.

Tests conducted at National Public Health Laboratory confirmed infection in eight from Kathmandu and one from Bhaktapur, 17 from Kathmandu tested positive at Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital and five from Kathmandu, four from Bhaktapur and two from Lalitpur were diagnosed with coronavirus at Patan Hospital.

Likewise, Spokesperson Dr. Gautam said that tests at Bir Hospital confirmed infection in two people from Kathmandu, one from Kathmandu at TU Teaching Hospital and two from Kathmandu at Nepal Police Hospital.

According to Dr. Gautam, five from Kathmandu and one from Lalitpur tested positive at Star Hospital and reports of three from Kathmandu came positive in tests at Birendra Military Hospital.
