Police open fire, lob teargas canisters to contain clash in Dhanusha

JANAKPURDHAM: Dhanusha Police has fired three rounds of bullets to contain a clash that erupted between the locals from two wards of Videha Municipality over the construction site of a birthing center.

According to DSP Rameshwor Karki, police had to open fire and lob three teargas canisters to contain the clash.

DSP Karki told that both sides are in dialogue to settle the row now.

The locals had been in a dispute over a suitable site for the construction of the birthing center in the locality for the last two days.

DSP Karki informed that about half a dozen people were injured in Friday’s clash.
The injured are sent to Provincial Hospital, Janakpur for treatment.

The irate mob had even hurled stones at Border Police Post at Duhabi as well.
