Nisarga Cyclone to cause rain today

KATHMANDU: The Nisarga Cyclone arising from the Arabian Sea is likely to cause rain accompanied with strong and gusty winds, said the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

It is currently approaching north Maharastra coast with a speed of 13 km per hour.

According to MFD, the Nisarga Cyclone compounded by the westerly winds will cause rain with gusty winds and lightning in some places of Bagmati Pradesh, Gandaki Pradesh, Karnali Pradesh and Sudurpashchim Pradesh on Wednesday afternoon.

Rain accompanied by strong, gusty winds lashed parts of Mumbai on Tuesday as it braced for the impact of cyclonic storm Nisarga that is expected to make landfall south of it on Wednesday afternoon.

The impact of Nisarga Cyclone will remain until Friday, said MFD.
