COVID-19 kills 108, 057, infects 1,880,648 in USA



KATHMANDU: America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 1,132 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 108, 057.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 21, 325 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,880,648 so far.

Currently, 1,147, 174 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 17, 112 are critical.  Meanwhile, 625, 417 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 30, 078 deaths followed by New Jersey and Massachusetts with 11,783 and 7, 085 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 381,706 and infecting 6,473, 216 people as of Wednesday morning.
