Two including Indian national arrested for hundi in Nepal



KATHMANDU: Two persons including an Indian national have been arrested on the charge of illegal money transfer called hundi.

Police arrested Rupesh Kumar Gupta, 39, of Motihari, India and currently living in Sanepa and Sagar Shrestha, 35, of Baglung and currently living in New Baneshwor.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team from Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati arrested them from KMC-13 Tankeshwor and KMC-12 Kalimati on Saturday.

Police seized Rs 621,000 from Gupta’s possession and Rs 1.8 million from Shrestha.

The law enforcement agency said that a further investigation was underway.
