US reports 65, 738 deaths,1,130,851 infection cases



KATHMANDU: America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 1,882 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 65, 738 as of Saturday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 35,828 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,130,851.

Currently, 903, 562 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 16,481 are critical.  Meanwhile, 161, 551 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 24, 069 deaths followed by New Jersey and Michigan with 7,538 and 3, 866 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 239,408 and infecting 3,398,073 people as of Saturday morning.
