KATHMANDU: All 14 children who were suspected of carrying the Coronavirus and subsequently tested after being admitted to the Kanti Children’s Hospital have tested negative for COVID-19.

They have also returned home after recovery.

Of the 14, three were from India. The hospital decided to test them for COVID-19 after they showed related symptoms and also had their parents returned from abroad, according to the Hospital Director Dr. Krishna Prasad Poudel.

Meanwhile, the hospital has made necessary preparations for the possibility of receiving people carrying the Coronavirus. Isolation beds have been readied along with management of personal protection equipment for the medical personnel, Poudel said.

The hospital has also set up a phone call consultation service for patients considering the nationwide lockdown in effect in the country. Accordingly, for minor cold and cough, doctors are available at 01-4427449 and 9847386205 and for surgery-related needs at 01-4443131 or 9847386150.
