NA aircraft carrying Australian tourists lands in Brisbane

KATHMANDU: A Nepal Airlines aircraft carrying 260 Australians stranded in Nepal landed at Brisbane Airport on Thursday morning, Australian Ambassador to Nepal, Peter Budd has said.

Ambassador Budd tweeted on Thursday saying that the Nepal Airlines’ Airbus 330 landed safely in Brisbane, Australia, adding “Nepalis should be rightfully proud.”

The Australian Embassy in Nepal had chartered the NA aircraft to evacuate Australian and New Zealand citizens stranded in Nepal due to the nationwide lockdown here.

This is the first time that a Nepal Airlines aircraft landed in Australia.

The Kathmandu-Kuala Lumpur-Brisbane flight landed in Brisbane carrying around 260 Australian nationals.
