178 people undergo COVID-19 health test at Baitadi transit point

BAITADI: Health check is being conducted at the help desk established for coronavirus test at Jhulaghat border.

A total of 178 people entering Nepal via Jhulaghat border have undergone health screening at the help desk so far, said the chief of Health Office, Yogesh Prasad Bhatta. Dasharathchand municipality, health office, and District

Hospital jointly established the help desk on February 22.

He added that no COVID-19 infection was found in them. All the citizens returning from India via Jhulaghat border point undergo health checkup, it is leaned. Two health workers have been deputed at the help desk.

Health section chief of the municipality, Durga Dutta Joshi said that the help desk was established with the objective of creating awareness about COVID-19 infection and to carry out health tests of people entering India.

Bhatta said the people entering Nepal from India would be enquired whether or not they had visited China two weeks before and whether they are suffering from a common cold or not.

He shared information that an arrangement has been made to keep a person found suffering from high fever or suspected cases would be kept in an isolation room.

The help desk was established with an objective of preventing possible coronavirus infection on people entering the district through the border point, added Joshi.
