Cold, flu patients to be treated separately in Bharatpur Hospital

CHITWAN: Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan has allocated a separate space for purchasing tickets and health examinations for patients visiting with common cold and fever.

The decision to this effect was made as a preventive measure against the infection of coronavirus, Chief of Medical Superintendent, Dr Shreeram Tiwari said.

The novel coronavirus originated from Wuhan of Hubei Province in China has posed a global health threat.

The hospital receives around 1,200 patients at Out Patients Department (OPD) on a daily basis.

Currently, it has witnessed over 70 patients with cases of fever and common cold on a daily basis, informed Dr Tiwari.

From Monday, the patients infected with fever and common cold will be asked to purchase tickets in a separate counter and get examined separately.

The Hospital has also set up an isolation room with five beds for patients suspected of coronavirus infection will be examined.

Two physicists have been entrusted with the operation of this room.
