NCP Secretariat meeting makes no headway

KATHMANDU: A Secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) convened on Thursday to pick candidates for the National Assembly (NA) elections ended inconclusively.

According to a leader, disputes surfaced in the meeting after Chairman KP Oli ‘unilaterally’ presented the names of candidates for the polls.

“Discussions were held on candidates for the elections. But, a conclusion was not reached,” said Spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha after the meeting.

He added that the next sitting will finalize the candidates.

The meeting will convene again at 8 am on Friday morning.
