Fire destroys barn in Madhubani



SARLAHI: A barn was completely destroyed in a fire that broke out in Godaita Municipality–12, Madhubani, last evening.

According to Acting Police Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Police Inspector Bindeshwor Yadav, the fire started at the house of local resident Shivaji Paswan while he was burning a fire to repel mosquitoes.

Upon receiving information, a police team from the Madhubani village police post, led by Police Constable Gauri Shankar Yadav, was immediately deployed to the site. With the joint efforts of police personnel and local residents, the fire was brought under control by around 9:00 pm.

No human casualties were reported in the incident. However, the barn was completely destroyed. A goat died in the fire, while a cow and two goat calves sustained partial injuries. Police said that five quintals of paddy, a sack of sugarcane and clothes stored in the house were also destroyed in the blaze.
