Cabinet permits land acquisition to extend ring road

KATHMANDU: The government has given permission for the acquisition of land for the second phase of expansion of the ring road in the capital.

The recent cabinet meeting has given permission for the acquisition of land to extend the road with 31/31 meters along the Kalanki-Maharajgunj-Dhobikhola ring road sections.

According to the government spokesperson Gokul Banskota, the cabinet has decided to assign the officials to forward the preliminary process for the acquisition of lands for nine hydro projects.

The meeting has also decided to register 110 ropani of land in the name of the national forest nullifying its previous registration in the name of Swayambhu based Ghyangguthi.

The meeting appointed Prem Nath Adhikari as chairperson of the cultural corporation and Ashok Kumar Rai as general manager and reappointed Naresh Raj Aryal as a banking member of the Debt Recovery Tribunal.

Similarly, it was also decided upon to repatriate four Egyptians living illegally in Nepal for long.
