NCP Secretariat meeting at 4 pm today

KATHMANDU: The Secretariat meeting of the Nepal Community Party (NCP) is taking place on Thursday.

The NCP meeting called for  4 pm today will dwell on the appointment of Speaker and the National Assembly elections, said NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

“Prime Minister has told me to arrive at 12 pm,” Dahal said at a program, adding, “We have to conduct elections of the National Assembly members and appoint Speaker to the House of Representatives.”

NCP has not yet finalized its candidate for the post of Speaker due to lack differences between the two heavyweights.

The post has been lying vacant after former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara resigned from the post over sexual allegations.

Prime Minister Oli is in favor of Subas Nembang while Agni Sapkota is being backed by Dahal.
