Number of active COVID-19 cases decreases

KATHMANDU: The number of COVID-19 infection is decreasing lately.

In the past 24 hours, 1,490 new cases were reported in the country on Tuesday. Among the new cases reported in the past 24 hours, 925 were male and 565 female.

With this, there are 16,547 active COVID-19 cases reported in the country as of now. Among them, 10,741 were availing treatment in home-isolation and 5,806 were receiving treatment in the institutional isolation centers, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam shared that a total of 1,567 COVID-19 patients recovered and returned home in a day which takes the recovery toll to 218,161 till date.

The national COVID-19 caseload reaches 236,246 as of now.

Meanwhile, 723 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the Kathmandu Valley in the past 24 hours.

A total of 8,300 tests were carried out in various labs across the country in the past 24 hours.
