Two SPs, inspector suspended on irregularities allegation

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has suspended two Superintendents of Police (SPs) and an Inspector of Nepal Police on charges of committing irregularities while in the traffic office.

According to SSP Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, the Spokesperson of Nepal Police, Home Ministry has suspended SP duo Bimal Basnet and Rameshwar Prasad Yadav and Inspector Meghraj Chaurasia on recommendation of the Police Headquarters.

SSP Kunwar informed that they were suspended after it came to notice that they had committed irregularities while they at the Province Traffic Police Office in Karnali.

The police headquarters initiated action after it was confirmed that the SPs were involved in collecting money from the police offices under them on monthly basis.

The alleged officials will face departmental action after suspense from the post.

Similarly, the Ministry has also suspended DSP Bharat Badur Chaudhary, then in-charge of Area Police Office, Malakheti, Kailali, who was found at the hotel while on duty. He had turned out of contact all of a sudden on November 25.

Later, while searching, he was found at a hotel discarding his duty.
