Nepal ranks 46th among countries worst affected by COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Nepal has been ranked 46th out of 215 countries in the global list of countries with coronavirus cases.

Nepal is about to overtake Japan (83,563) and China (85,424) cases. The USA has been ranked first with 7,497,980 cases, while India and Brazil have been placed second and third respectively, according to Worldometers.

As of Friday afternoon, Nepal has reported 82,450 coronavirus cases. Out of them, 60,696 have recovered, while 21,234 are receiving treatment in home and institutional isolations.

A total of 2,722 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed across the nation in the last 24 hours in the highest single-day spike.

A total of 3,307 people returned home after recovery from coronavirus in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of people discharged after recovery has reached 60,696. The recovery percentage as of today is 73.6 percent.

The Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,638 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

A total of 11,760 people are in home isolation, 9,474 people in institutional isolation and 4,588 in quarantine facilities.

A total of 210 coronavirus-infected people are receiving treatment in ICU and 29 with the help of a ventilator, according to the Ministry of Health.

Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll stands at 520.
