Province 5 govt picks Deukhuri as permanent capital



BUWTAL: The Province 5 government has registered a proposal in the provincial assembly to make Deukhuri the permanent capital of the province.

Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of the province government Kul Prasad KC presented the proposal before the province assembly.

Earlier, a meeting of the provincial Council of Ministers on Friday morning passed a proposal to make Deukhuri the permanent capital of the province, said Minister KC. Likewise, it has been decided to name the province Lumbini Province.

Minister KC has submitted a proposal in the provincial assembly to connect Gadhawa and Rapti Rural Municipality and Shitganga Municipality of Arghakhanchi with the Capital.

The Constitution of Nepal has given the right to pick the provincial capital and the province name to the provincial assembly.
