NEW DELHI: With the intent of reinvigorating the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), India has assigned Vijay Thakur Singh, Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to lead the Indian delegation at the 21st Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM).

The 21st SOM of BIMSTEC is being held under the chairmanship of Sri Lanka.

The SOM will discuss the further cooperation among BIMSTEC countries & holding of the next BIMSTEC Ministerial Meeting and the Summit.
