KATHMANDU: The government today decided to extend the ongoing prohibitory order in Kathmandu Valley until September 9.

A meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur held today decided to extend the prohibitory order until September 9.

It is forbidden to go out of the house except for urgent work during this period.

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu has made public the list of goods and services that will be exempted during the restriction.

According to Kamal Pandey, Administrative Officer, District Administration Office, Kathmandu, services related to import, transportation, storage and distribution of food grains, pulses, rice, salt and oil will be available during the prohibitory order.

Similarly, services such as seeds, meat products, grains and veterinary, bank, insurance, pharmaceutical items, other health related items, drinking water, gas, petroleum products, waste management etc. will also be operated, the administration office said.

Likewise, ambulances/fire engines, diplomatic missions, postal or telephone services, print or government printing related works, communication services, media, electricity services, vehicles carrying death rites can be operated during the period.

Only 7 people can attend a wedding during the period.

Apart from this, those working on the management of quarantine and isolation of COVID-19 will be allowed to move if they showed their identity cards with photo and supporting materials, said Pandey.

These exemtations  also applied in Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.
