Two more COVID-19 infected persons die in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Two more COVID-19 infected persons have died while undergoing treatment at the Maharajgunj based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH).

Dr. Sabin Thapaliya, member of the hospital’s COVID-19 committee said that the deceased have been identified as a 20-year-old woman from Tanahun and a 75-year-old man from Kathmandu.

He said both infected people died on Tuesday evening.

The young woman was undergoing dialysis due to kidney failure.

She was shifted to COVID-19 ward on Tuesday after she tested positive for the pandemic virus.

An elderly man from Kathmandu was admitted to the hospital on August 31. He was also suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure and was admitted to the ICU from day one.

He died while undergoing treatment in the ICU. A Nepal Army team is preparing to manage the bodies of both the deceased.

Meanwhile, a 97-year-old man from Bara died at the COVID-19 Hospital in Birgunj on Tuesday.
