UP Cabinet Minister dies of coronavirus

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Kamala Rani Varun passed away due to coronavirus in Lucknow.

Rani Varun was receiving treatment for COVID19 at a hospital in Lucknow, Indian media reported. She was 62.

She died at 9:30 am at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, NDTV reported.

Rani Varun served as Minister of Technical Education in the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government. She was admitted to hospital on July 18 after she tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
