Jhapa’s Arjundhara Municipality in lockdown

KHAPA: The Arjundhara Municipality in Jhapa district has imposed a lockdown in the municipality to stop further spread of coronavirus.

A meeting of the COVID Crisis Management Committee decided to enforce a five-day lockdown starting Sunday.

The decision to this effect was made after a male was found infected with the virus in ward no. 1 of the municipality, according to Mayor Hari Rana.

This will also help contact tracing and prevention of community transmission.

As a result, all means of private and public transport have been prohibited, and shops closed. Only essential services will be available.

Shops will be allowed to open only from 8 to 11 in the morning.

Though the municipality and ward office remain open many regular services including recommendations have been closed for the moment, said Chief Administrative Officer Pankaj Bhurtel.
