Karnali Highway obstructed since a week



KARNALI: The Karnali Highway has remained obstructed due to landslides and flood since the past one week.

Heavy rainfall-triggered landslides and flood have obstructed the highway in several locations.

Landslides in over a dozen locations including Kalekhola, Dahikhola, Hulma, Jitegad, Pili, Molfa, Chaukhola, Serabada, Takulla etc. have blocked traffic on the road, according to District Police Office, Kalikot Chief DSP Shyam Oliya.

Efforts are underway to clear the highway.

The obstruction is an annual affair every monsoon. Locals say all three tiers of the government need to address this problem.
