Prohibitory order issued in Banke from today



BANKE: The local administration has imposed a prohibitory order to be effective for the next three days in the district from Sunday.

The decision was taken after 30 people were found infected in a single day during a test of people carried out in government offices and in the communities.

The order has been issued in order to prevent further spread of the coronavirus, said Chief District Officer Ram Bahadur Kurumba.

Only essential services including health, security, drinking water, milk and others will be allowed to function during the three days.

A contract tracing of the 30 infected people has been completed and the swab samples of 423 people have been collected for testing.

A high alert has been adopted after employees at the Inland Revenue Office and Transport Management Office as well as a sweets shop proprietor in Tribhuvan Chowk were found infected with the virus, said Naresh Shrestha, Corona Resource Person of the District Health Office.

So far, 437 have tested positive to Corona Virus in Banke with two deaths. Currently, 54 people are undergoing treatment at the three isolation centers in Nepalgunj and the Corona Special Hospital in Khajura.
