Govt changing modality of lockdown from today



KATHMANDU: The government has decided to change the modality of the lockdown from Tuesday.

A cabinet meeting held on Saturday extended the lockdown until June 14. The High Level Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 has been directed to change the modality of the lockdown.

Prime Minister KP Oli in the cabinet meeting directed Deputy Prime Minister and coordinator of the High Level Coordination Committee Ishwor Pokharel to this effect, according to a minister

Prime Minister Oli had directed to prepare a draft of the changed modality on the lockdown including how the people can be brought inside the Kathmandu Valley from the low-risk districts and factories and industries can be resumed in the capital.

According to sources, the government is preparing a modality to ease lockdown from today.

Prime Minister in his address to the nation also had said that the government would change the modality of the lockdown.

The High Level Coordination Committee said it would prepare the list of low and high risk zones and work out accordingly.
