Young man commits suicide in Udayapur quarantine



UDAYAPUR: A young man living in a quarantine facility in Udayapur has committed suicide on Thursday.

According to District Police Office, Udayapur, Suman BK, 18, committed suicide hanging by a shawl at a quarantine set up in Rauta Janata Camp.

The police said that the wife of the deceased first saw him hanging in the quarantine room at around 3 am and immediately reported to the local administration.

The young man had gone to bed at around 8 pm after the evening meal.

Superintendent of Police, Bir Bahadur Magar told the media that investigation about the cause of accident was undergoing.

“The body is currently being taken to District Hospital for postmortem,” he said, “The police have reached at the site and the investigation about the cause of suicide is undergoing.”

The man and his wife who were stranded in Kathmandu were rescued and taken to the quarantine facility last week.

The newly-wed couple had reached Kathmandu a couple of months ago in search of jobs. Jobless after coronavirus, they were rescued and brought back to Udayapur.
