State 5 to establish corona hospital with laboratory

DANG: The State 5 government is planning to build a temporary corona hospital along with a lab facility at the Dang-based Rapti Academy of Health Sciences (RAHS) when the infection of COVID-19 looms large.

District Health Office, Dang’s focal person Kamal Chand said the State government was working to operate the corona hospital with a laboratory for the virus test.

”Currently, there is the compulsion of sending the swab sample of suspected ones to Kathmandu for the test and once the hospital comes into operation, we will have a testing facility within the hospital.”

At present, a 100-bed isolation facility has been set up at Beljundhi to keep the people suspected of catching the virus. The general lab service has been launched targeting the isolation center, it is said.

Besides, all local levels in the district have quarantine and isolation rooms. A search for the possible infected is taking place at ward level in the district in cooperation with local representatives, according to Chief District Officer Govinda Rijal.

Those recently returned from India and other foreign countries have been sent to quarantine.
