KATHMANDU:The government has decided to call back Nepal’s ambassador to China Lila Mani Paudel.

The meeting of the Council of Minister held on Sunday decided to summon back Paudel within 15 days.

“The meeting of the Council of Minister held at the Prime Minister’s residence Baluwatar has given 15 days to come back to Nepal,” the source told Khabarhub.

Although it is said that he was called back due to coronavirus spread in China, the real cause of the summon against him is still not clear.

Former Chief Secretary Paudel was appointed Nepal’s ambassador to China in 2016.

The source disclosed Khabarhub that former Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey will replace him.

Pandey, had assumed the post of Minister for Foreign Affairs under Sushil Koirala led government.
