Taskforce formed to set up quarantine at TIA

KATHMANDU: The government has formed a taskforce with an aim to manage a quarantine at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to checkup the health of all the inbound and outbound passengers.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai took a ministerial-level decision at the Ministry on Sunday.

The decision has been taken as to apply precaution measures to prevent the novel corona virus epidemic in the country.

The taskforce has been formed under the chair of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) Director Dev Chandra Lal Karna.

Likewise, the members of the taskforce include Dr Hemanta Chandra Ojha of Health Ministry, TIA Emigration Office Director Rajesh Panthi, Sharad Kafle of airlines operators committee and a member from the security sector.

The taskforce has been entrusted to make all necessary preparations to set up quarantine posts at the TIA.
