Pre-monsoon begins in the country



KATHMANDU: This year’s pre-monsoon period that runs for three months has made its presence in the country.

The pre-monsoon period runs from March, April to May. This period is marked by continuous influence in weather in the afternoon and evening, especially in the hilly regions.

Meteorologist Samir Shrestha said that pre-monsoon is characterized by sunny days and brief thundershowers during afternoons and evenings.

The arrival of pre-monsoon is caused by the impact of local winds which is met by Westerly winds when the winter season has just been over.
