PM Oli to undergo kidney re-transplantation at TUTH on Wednesday

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli will be undergoing a re-transplantation of his kidney at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) on Wednesday.

Emerging from the Secretariat meeting held on Sunday morning, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha said PM Oli will be admitted to the hospital tomorrow.

The prime minister has been undergoing regular dialysis after the kidney that was transplanted some 12 years ago stopped functioning.

Oli had undergone coronary angiography of his heart at the Maharajgunj-based Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center on February 18.

Doctors opted for re-transplantation after his health report turned out to be normal.

The Secretariat meeting wished the prime minister for the successful operation and speedy health recovery, Shrestha said.
